Modular Origami, Kusudama & Stars by Maria Sinayskaya

HPBD Origami Star

HPBD Origami Star
HPBD Origami Star (with HPBD being short for “Happy Birthday”) is a 6-pointed modular star designed by Andrey Hechuev. Each unit is folded from a square sheet of paper; the star can be assembled without glue. I would suggest using relatively small-sized paper to fold this model, even 5 cm squares yield quite a big star!

  1. Mary, your new star I’ve just folded, is a very beautiful star!

    • All credit goes to Andrey since he is the designer! I only folded and diagrammed it! :)

  2. Hi Maria? What program do you use to draw the diagrams?

    • I draw them in Adobe Illustrator. Sometimes I also use InDesign for creating different page layouts.
