I have already made Cherry Blossom Ball twice, but somehow I found myself folding it again. And not just folding but even decorating it, which I have to say doesn’t happen too often. Turned out quite nice!

This is a great model indeed and I’m always sorry to hear that many people have trouble assembling it. The secret to easy and flawless assembly is to unfold and open up pockets before trying to tuck flaps inside! Just open the pocket, put the flap in place and close the pocket. That’s it. No struggle at all.

Geranium kusudama is yet another beautiful origami design by Tomoko Fuse; the diagram can be found in the latest issue of Origami Tanteidan Magazine.

There are two variations of this model, I only folded the “curled” one. The other version of this kusudama doesn’t have curls, but I think should be even easier to assemble.

Spiral Faced Cube by Tomoko Fuse was one of those models I’ve been planning to fold for a very long time, but kept putting it off for one reason or the other. I’m so glad that I finally did it!

It took me about two hours to make it, I suppose (which is actually more than I expected, since only 12 units are needed). But I’m very pleased with the result – congratulations to me!
This is an origami box by Tomoko Fuse I found in one of Tanteidan Origami Magazines. What I really like about this design is that both the lid and the bottom are supposed to be folded from the same size paper (15 cm squares in my case) and they fit together perfectly, because the lid comes out a bit bigger than the base. Nice!

When I just started doing modular origami, I was mostly attracted to floral designs, all sort of curls, petals and frills. And I still love all that, but somewhere along the way I developed an interest in more straight geometrical models too – polyhedrons of all kinds and shapes.

And when I think of origami polyhedrons, two books in particular come to mind – Unit Origami Essence and Unit Origami Wonderland by Tomoko Fuse. I have already folded plenty of models from the first book, but only now I started to study the second one. These are models I found there and I’m surely going to fold something else from this book soon!
This 12-unit origami modular, Mozaic with Facets by Tomoko Fuse, is folded from half-squares and assembled without glue. I recommend using 3 different plain colors for this model and not too thin or soft paper because there are only two layers of paper overlap in the center of each facet.
I really enjoyed folding it! The diagram is published and can be found in Origami Tanteidan Magazine 125.
