Turned out it WAS one of Carmen Sprung's stars after all, Stern Olga:) So there is no need in any additional instructions from me, the model is already published in her book "Origami - 21 Sterne":

In reply to <a href="https://goorigami.com/modular-origami/8-pointed-origami-stars/1885#comment-1234">Aeric</a>.

Thank you!
These stars are similar in appearance to many 8-pointed origami stars/rings, but if they have already been published by someone else – I'm unaware of it.
I know about three Carmen's stars which are similar-looking: Asterix, Obelix and Saya Stars. I never saw any diagrams for them online but I figured out how the first two are made (after I designed these stars http://goorigami.com/modular-origami/stars/1566. And I still don't have a slightest idea on how the Saya Star is folded – which is a good thing actually, because it means that my stars are not the same as Carmen's :) If you know of any other her stars which are similar - please let me know.

This is a very beautiful design, I love it. It reminds me of one of the modular stars by Carmen Sprung; an octagram with a hole in the middle. I hope I don't sound so demanding, but I would be wonderful if you would share the instructions for this model. :)

This is a really beautiful design! And I must say, the finished product looks like it was flawlessly crafted. I would love to see diagrams to fold this sometime :D
