  1. This model is amazing! it’s so elegant and simple at same time! I really would like to fold it, where I should find the diagrams? Can you tell me where this model was published for the first time? Thanks for the info ; )

    • Hello Laura!
This model has not been published yet. There is no diagrams for it anywhere, either in print or online, as far as I know. I made this kusudama without instructions (reverse-engineered it from Mio’s picture).
I was told that Mio Tsugawa was going to reopen her online-shop where one can buy her diagrams, but it’s not up yet. So, we all have to wait a bit longer, I suppose.

      • Thanks for your suggestion, even if I think we understood how to fold it, it so simple and beautifull, this is genius! Thank you for sharing : )

      • The unit is a simple one indeed, only three folds – one mountain, then two valleys!

      • would you pls , show me a photo of 1 unit?

  2. Wow did you fold that model from reverse engineering hers? I tried doing it, too, but it kept falling apart. I don’ know if it’s because i just didn’t get the ratio right, or if I just needed to get better at twirling the paper.

    • >I tried doing it, too, but it kept falling apart.

If you have a photo of your unit, I could probably have a look and tell if it’s the same one or not.
In general, for all curlers it’s important to curl the flaps as tight as possible. The choice of paper (and its size) matters too.

      • I do have a photo! would you mind looking at it for me?

  3. Hi, I just love this piece. I tried looking for a video or diagram for applause and can’t seem to find one anywhere. You think you could possibly help me?

Thank you for all your help that I have found on your site, they really are beautiful pieces :D

    • Hi Ellea –
no wonder you couldn’t find any diagrams because they don’t exist:) I reverse-engineered this kusudama from a picture.
The good news is that Mio Tsugawa announced she was going to resume her origami activity this year. Let’s hope the diagram for this one will be available soon.

      • Oh, what a blessing, and thanks again for getting back to me! I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future ^^

  4. I love the applause kusudama!! Would you have a video showing how to make it? Thanks a million. Maria
